You can tell when swimwear fits well: it stays put when you swim, it doesn’t dig in when you sit and it flatters your shape. Getting the size right is easier than it looks if you follow these three steps.
The golden rule
- Measure your waist before you buy; don’t rely only on another brand’s size.
- If you are between two sizes, go for the larger one.

How to measureStep 1: measure your waist
01Use a soft measuring tape
Ideally in your underwear or without clothes, in front of a mirror.
02Wrap it where you wear your swimwear
Usually a little below the belly button. Keep the tape straight and snug, without squeezing.
03Write it down in inches
If you already know your pants size in inches (for example, 32 jeans), use it as a reference in the USA column.
Size conversionsStep 2: find your size in the chart
Our swimwear runs from S to XL. Find your measurement in the column you know — MX, USA or EU — and read your size on the left.
Size conversions · swimwear| Size | MX | USA | EU |
|---|
| S | 26-28 | 30-31 in | 44-46 |
|---|
| M | 30-32 | 32-33 in | 48-50 |
|---|
| L | 34-36 | 34-35 in | 53-54 |
|---|
| XL | 38-42 | 36-38 in | 56-58 |
|---|
The same chart is always available in our size guide.
How it should fitStep 3: consider the cut
Bikini, swim brief and swim short.
Zungas, swim briefs and bikinis
They should fit snugly, like a second skin. The waistband should hold without leaving a red mark: if it does, try one size up. If the fabric wrinkles or feels loose at the back when you move, try one size down.
Swim shorts
The drawstring lets you adjust the waist, so you can prioritize comfort in the leg. If you are between two sizes, the larger one is usually the safe bet.
“Good swimwear goes unnoticed: it stays in place and lets you enjoy.”
